When C Weddings was interested in featuring my beautiful Elie Saab Haute Couture gown – I was thrilled. I was also convinced that by the time it was intended to go to print… it would be edited out. Why? Because, who am I? But…if I may be so bold- I then remembered my gown. My one of a kind gown…the reason for the interest. The reason I felt so strong and beautiful that day. Of course it would never be edited out! What was I thinking.
In all honesty, Mr Saab’s creation deserves to be in a museum. It’s stunning. It was really all about the gown for me. I know- I could be bias BUT it’s the truth. Hopefully, I did him and his creation justice
Today, the Fall Weddings Issue of C Magazine hit the stands. The gown is front and center, opening the issues Fashion section.
If you’re still planning, the issue has some great inspiration for all you lovely brides. If you’re anything like me – you consumed so much wedding content before the wedding . Even after!
The gown took three months to be completed. When I sat down with Mr. Saab in Paris (dreams come true!) – I could have never imagined I would be selecting a blush gown. I am so happy I did. It really brought out all the right tones in my skin. The beautiful Tulip motif that was all over the gown – sewn with so much gorgeous thread- was really unique. I had never imagined a wedding gown could look like that.
Originally, I thought maybe I would be selecting a ready to wear gown from previous collections that was entirely beaded. He would take a look at my references and remember something he had in a collection – we’d just maybe recut it in the right color for the wedding.
BUT- When he sat in front of me, and began to sketch – I promise you – every hair on my body was raised. It was so very special.
A fairytale dream moment. Truly!
In March 2016, I finally got to see this beautiful work of art – and cried! A lot. Naturally.
Ladies, when that veil goes on – IT GETS VERY REAL! Trust me.
Pinch Me. Just Pinch Me.
Side notes: I wore BIONDA CASTANA shoes on my wedding day. Elie Saab parfum…of course
The shoes in the flatlay above are CHARLOTTE Olympia mules. Love!
And the Space Invader shoulder bag is Anya Hindmarch
(ps. Yes, the article spelled Dejban incorrectly but that’s fine. I will assume I missed it fact check. The quote from Mr Saab isn’t entirely accurate but BUT I am so honored grateful and lucky! )
